Admissions Policy
Statement of intent
It is our intention to make our pre-school accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community.
Aim
We aim to ensure that all sections of our community have access to the pre-school through open, fair and clearly communicated procedures.
In order to achieve this aim, we operate the following admissions policy.
* We ensure that the existence of the pre-school is widely advertised in places accessible to all sections of the community.
* We ensure that information about our pre-school is accessible - in written and spoken form - and, where appropriate, in different languages.
* We describe our pre-school and its practices in terms which make it clear that it welcomes fathers and mothers, other relations and other carers, including childminders.
* We consult with families about changes or reviews of opening times of the pre-school to avoid excluding anyone.
* We aim to be flexible about attendance patterns to accommodate the needs of individual children and families.
Admission Procedure
* Children are put on a waiting list on application. A deposit is requested to secure a place on the waiting list.
* If a form is received without a deposit we endeavour to contact the parent/ carer and inform them that their child will remain on a reserve list until the deposit is paid and that their place is not guaranteed until the deposit is paid.
* Parents are contacted in the term before admission and the child and parents/carer are invited to visit. During this visit registration forms are completed, and a settling in plan is set
* A minimum of two sessions a week is required.
* Our main intake is in September although places may be come available at other times.
